What we collect
SmartBuy AI collects no personal information from users. We do not collect your name, email address, location, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information.
How the extension works
When you click "Analyze" on an Amazon product page, the extension reads the following data from that page only:
- Product title and price
- Star rating and review count
- A sample of customer review text
- Product feature bullet points
This data is sent to Anthropic's API (Claude AI) for analysis and is not stored on any server. It is processed in real time and immediately discarded after the analysis is returned to your browser.
Local storage
The extension stores one number locally on your device: the total count of products you have analyzed. This number never leaves your device and is only used to display your usage statistics in the extension popup.
Affiliate links
SmartBuy AI adds an affiliate tag to Amazon URLs. This allows us to earn a small commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. We do not track your purchases or buying behavior in any way.
Third-party services
We use Anthropic's Claude API to process review data. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data sent to their API. You can review it at anthropic.com/privacy.
Children's privacy
SmartBuy AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
